Learning a new language is not only good for your brain, it also has many benefits. So many studies show that people who speak two languages are better at multitasking than those who speak just one. This is because they have to constantly switch between the two languages in their minds and this helps them stay more alert and focused. Learning a new language also helps you keep your brain healthy as you age as it can help prevent mental decline.
This infographic by Babbel, the world’s first language app, talks about how learning a language can improve your brain concentration as so many of us now suffer from digital amnesia, which is where ‘we are entrusting our phones with all the things we used to remember on our own, effectively diminishing our memory. One in two people can’t remember their children’s phone number, one in three can’t even remember their partner’s phone number.’ Which is clearly a huge problem.
