Designing My Dream Dressing Room
I am somebody who loves to get all dolled up. Whether its for a fresh set of blog pictures or because I am going out to a celebration, I always want to look my best, and having the ultimate dressing room is the first step in achieving that. I have always wanted to design my own space for glam and have given it a lot of consideration over the years, so thought it would be fun to share my dressing room goals with you. Here is what I would want in my dream dressing room.
Mirror with lights
I’m ready for my close-up! At the top of my dressing room wish list has always been a huge mirror with beaming lights around it, so I can see every pore and make sure I am nailing my look every single time. It reminds me of being in an old Hollywood dressing room and makes me feel like a celebrity, which is the perfect vibe for a pamper session in front of the mirror.
Uplifting wall art
Being a very visual person, I like to have positive and uplifting things to look at when I am trying to get into a good headspace and look my best. One way of doing this is displaying wall art in my dressing room which makes me feel good about myself, with complimentary messages or designs that make my heart happy to look at. Sometimes my dressing room is used as a place for me to get creative, and that injection of colour is a fantastic motivator.
Lots of storage
When I am trying to do my hair and make-up, I get really frustrated trying to route around and look for what I need. Instead, I like to have a place for every single thing and put it back there as soon as I use it, which means I need lots of storage in my dressing room in all kinds of sizes. I want every make-up brush to have a slot to sit in, every pair of shoes to have a cubby and every dress to have a hanger, which means my dream dressing room would have to be huge with plenty of storage options.
Comfy seating
I want to feel relaxed in my dressing room. Sometimes a dressing room can be a tense place to be – make-up isn’t going on right, the zip won’t do up and you’re starting to sweat because your hair keeps going flat. So I want not only a comfy place for me to sit myself, but also a little seating space so that I can chat to pals while I am getting ready for a night out, ask for their opinions on what I’m going to wear and get in the party mood.
Mini fridge and coffee machine
I am all about the sustenance when it comes to creating my ideal space. If I want to be comfy, feel good and keep myself engaged, then at the very least I am going to need a coffee machine but ideally I’d want a mini fridge for some snacks too! If the fridge isn’t for snacks then it could be a place to keep my skincare nice and chilled – as long as I still have space for me to keep having my coffee!
