We are officially in the second half of the year, which means it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. I like to start planning early; my love language is gift giving, so I want to take the time to plan out the perfect gifts for the people that I care about. One of my favourite things to give somebody is sweets, because everybody loves it and it can immediately brighten up somebody’s day. Here are five ideas for sweet Christmas gifts.

Go traditional
One of the first things that people think of when it comes to Christmas is the food – and a main feature of festive food is that ever-essential tub of sweet treats. Instead of the usual Christmas chocolates that come in tubs, a large tub of sweet shop sweets is a great way to make your gift stand out from the crowd, and is a fantastic gift to give to a whole family at once so that they can share them out over the festive period.
Write a note made of sweets
This gift takes a little bit of time and effort to get right, but the end result is definitely worth it. Write down a list of the recipient’s favourite sweets and see if you can work them into a special note that is going to make them smile – for example, you could say “When I see you I want to give you SQUASHIES, you make my LOVE HEART happy”. Use packaging from the sweets to decorate the note so that they get all of your references, and then include a package of all of those yummy sweets for them to enjoy after reading your letter.
Get some sweets personalised
Christmas gifts are especially fun when they are personalised – especially if the recipient has a name that they can never find in the shops. When I’m buying sweet treats for my family and friends I love to get them personalised, either with their name or with some sort of in-joke or word that I know is going to make them smile. You could keep it simple for loved ones by getting sweets that get straight to the point and simply say “I love you”.
Put together a hamper
When it comes to giving people gifts, I like to show them that I have taken the time to make it absolutely perfect for them. This means going out of my way to pick all of the recipient’s favourites, all wrapped up together in a lovely handmade hamper. If time is of the essence, a premade hamper is a great way to bring something sweet into somebody’s life in a much quicker way that they will still absolutely love.
Go big or go home
I am definitely a fan of going overboard when it comes to gifts, and this is especially true when it comes to sweets. Whether its a giant version of a popular favourite sweet, or simply a huge box of sweets that is going to take them all year to get through, I love to go oversized when it comes to showing my love through gift giving.
