Most people think about holidays in Egypt and one image comes to mind: endless deserts, with pyramids scattered around the place. And while that is something amazing that Egypt has to offer, travelling to somewhere coastal like Hurghada introduces you to a whole new Egypt, complete with water sports, fantastic dining and a whole lot of the Egyptian sun. Here are four things you can’t miss on a trip to Hurghada.

Orange Bay
Orange Bay in Hurghada is the ultimate vacation experience in my opinion; a chance to truly relax and unwind by taking life at a slower pace and really soaking up the moment. If you want to cool off in the water you can take part in all kinds of games in the water, with soft toys for you to play with all afternoon, while food comes in the form of a laid back picnic on the beach. The more adventurous travellers can take part in some local snorkelling excursions, culminating with a buffet lunch on the beach as you will be starving after all of those exciting activities!
Dolphin Bay
One of the things that I would be most excited about when visiting a location with such gorgeous crystal blue seas, is the experience of swimming with dolphins. That’s why Dolphin Bay is one of my most coveted Hurghada excursions, as I would have a chance to swim and play with dolphins as well as experiencing gorgeous coral reefs up close and personal. While this experience sounds thrilling and adventurous, don’t be fooled into thinking you won’t get to indulge in a little bit of luxury during your travels, as you will experience lunch and drinks as an onboard experience on your boat before you are brought back to your hotel.
Paradise Island
When you think of a luxury holiday full of sand, sea and sun, you would probably be hard-pressed to come up with anywhere more perfect for you than Paradise Island – the clue is in the name! Paradise Island is actually Giftun Island, which is home to Paradise Beach, the shores of which you will frolic and play in as part of your adventure holiday. This spot offers all kinds of water toys and inflatables for playing with, as well as activities like a luxurious hot buffet and a taste of the local culture with belly dancing.
Fishing in the Red Sea
Fishing isn’t exactly an activity that is specific to a holiday in Egypt – there are hundreds of fantastic fishing spots right here in the UK, for a start! However, fishing in the Red Sea is a once in a lifetime experience that is well worth a trip. While fishing in the United Kingdom is generally considered to be a way that people switch off and relax, going fishing in the Red Sea is likened more to an angling safari. Not only is there a whole new variety of gorgeous and exciting fish that you can experience and learn about, but you can cook what you catch at the end of your day trip, so you really get to enjoy the fruit of your labours.
